| Quickly and Easily Estimate the Direct and Indirect Costs of an Injury |
|
Estimating the financial costs in advance of an injury is difficult. Fortunately, OSHA's interactive $afety Pays website offers assistance.
Using insurance company claims data, in four simple steps the tool calculates the estimated direct and indirect costs of an injury. And if you enter your profit margin information, $afety Pays will also project the additional sales required to recover the costs of the injury. Learn more.

| Safety Training Shouldn't have a Beginning and an End |
|
Manufacturing plants typically do a good job of educating new workers about safety procedures. But that initial training isn't enough to ensure employees will take the safety message to heart and work safely every day, and it isn't enough to satisfy OSHA regulations. A continuing safety program is necessary to meet both goals (Feingold, Jean. "The Importance of Continued Training," Fabricating & Metalworking, November/December 2007).
Read the complete article to learn more about identifying what should be included, frequency and other essential training considerations.

| Did You Know? |
|
Did you know that, in addition to being the industry's most compact safety laser scanner, the OS32C is also the first to provide integrated management via Ethernet?
This helps keep machines up and running by allowing the user to check the operating state and analyze the cause of an emergency stop via LAN, and take quick corrective action, even in large-scale applications with multiple scanners.
