Get Continuing Education Units (CEUs) with a Skill Builder Training Seminar from Omron STI
Omron STI is hosting more than 35 regional Skill Builder seminars throughout the summer of 2009. Skill Builders are not a sales pitch, but rather one-day training seminars designed to educate your personnel on the requirements and methods of machine and process safeguarding, and the correct application of guarding devices. Attendees will receive 0.6 CEUs.
Are all the machines in your facility guarded to relevant standards? Have all steps been taken to prevent injuries from process equipment? Has a documented machine guarding assessment been performed to verify compliance? If you can't answer "yes" to each of these questions, please consider joining us for a Skill Builder seminar this summer.
The registration cost is just $250 per attendee. We expect that after attending you will consider this an investment, rather than an expense. If you disagree, just let us know and we'll fully refund your money. Space is limited to 30 attendees per seminar, so take a moment to learn more and sign up today!

New Asset Relocation Assessment Service Facilitates Cost Effective Machine Relocation
Omron STI's new Asset Relocation Assessment Service will help companies that are faced with downsizing determine the federal and local compliance level of its machines that qualify for relocation, and the cost to bring those machines into compliance. The aim is to help companies make tough decisions about which machines are most valuable and cost effective to them during a plant or facility consolidation.
Following a defined process, an Omron STI machine safety expert will assess all machines that may qualify for relocation, and determine whether or not they comply with the regulations of their destination country or location. A comprehensive assessment report is then provided to help company management to make a well informed decision in minutes, instead of weeks or even months.

No Accidents? Doesn't Mean You're Safe.
Old safety wisdom has been, "If no one is seriously hurt, the workplace must be safe." In No Accidents? Doesn't Mean You're Safe, published in Machine Design magazine, Certified Safety Professional Lanny Burke explains why reacting only to "lost time" incidents means ignoring 99% of the opportunities to make the workplace safer, and why even "close calls" should be investigated to get at the root causes.

Did You Know?
Did you know that more than 90% of machines on the factory floor that Omron STI experts assess are not guarded in accordance with relevant regulations and standards?
To safeguard a machine correctly and ensure the existing safeguards are adequate requires a documented machine safeguarding assessment. A proper assessment helps ensure that your machine remains productive after the guarding is installed.
